Who We Are
Assistance in Healthcare, Inc. was established in 1983 by a group of volunteers in Zion, Illinois solely for the purpose of raising funds to support cancer patients and their families.
Southeastern Assistance in Healthcare (SAIH) is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, charitable organization that opened in 2012 and is dedicated to helping cancer patients who are undergoing treatment in the Newnan and greater Atlanta area, and their families, by lessening the financial burden of cancer.
Because medical expenses can make the road to recovery far more difficult, the organization attempts to pave the way by providing assistance to those who have become financially distressed as a result of their courageous fight.
SAIH relies solely on the support of individual donors. Donations and gifts are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
Mission
Our mission is to help cancer patients in financial distress while they are in treatment by providing funds for non-medical expenses such as:
- Mortgage/Rent
- Food/Groceries
- Utilities
- Childcare
and other basic needs, which may be neglected during a patient’s treatment.
What We Do
Southeastern Assistance In Healthcare helps to keep families focused on fighting cancer and not worrying about other stresses cancer can cause by lessening the burden of non-medical needs such as groceries, utilities, housing, transportation, and basic living expenses.
Who We Serve
Southeastern Assistance in Healthcare serves any patient in active cancer treatment at facilities within the Atlanta Metro area, as defined by the Standard Metropolitan Statistical Areas (SMSAs).
